DJ Equipment Rental in Greece: Everything You Need for Your Next Event

From Pioneer CDJ setups to controllers and turntables, here is what to know about renting DJ equipment in Greece, what is included, and how to match gear to your event.

Pioneer CDJ-3000 and DJM-V10 professional DJ equipment setup

Whether you are a touring DJ arriving in Greece for a gig, an event planner sourcing gear for your client's party, or a venue owner setting up for the season, renting DJ equipment is almost always better than buying or shipping your own.

The logistics of bringing professional DJ gear to Greece, especially to the islands, are expensive and risky. Ferry transport rattles cases. Airline baggage handlers are not gentle with flight cases. And if something breaks on arrival, you have no backup.

Renting locally solves all of that. Here is what you need to know.

Standard DJ Setups

The Club Standard: Pioneer CDJ-3000 + DJM-900NXS2

This is the industry default. If a DJ's rider says "standard club setup," this is what they mean:

  • 2x Pioneer CDJ-3000 media players
  • 1x Pioneer DJM-900NXS2 mixer
  • DJ booth table or stand
  • All cables, power distribution

The CDJ-3000 is Pioneer's flagship media player. It plays from USB drives, has a 9-inch touchscreen for track browsing, and handles every file format DJs use. The DJM-900NXS2 is the mixer you will find in every professional DJ booth worldwide.

This setup covers 90% of DJ riders. It works for wedding DJs, club DJs, and touring artists alike.

The Premium Setup: CDJ-3000 + DJM-V10

For high-profile bookings and DJs who want maximum control:

  • 2x or 4x Pioneer CDJ-3000 media players
  • 1x Pioneer DJM-V10 mixer (6 channels)
  • Additional FX units if specified

The DJM-V10 has six channels (versus four on the 900), more nuanced EQ, and expanded effects. DJs who play long sets or blend between more than two tracks prefer it.

Four CDJ-3000s are common for artists who layer tracks, use stems, or want the extra decks for seamless mixing without interruption.

Turntable Setups

For vinyl DJs or events that want the visual and sonic character of turntables:

  • 2x Technics SL-1210MK7 turntables
  • 1x Pioneer DJM-S11 or Allen & Heath Xone:96 mixer
  • Ortofon Concorde cartridges (DJ or Mix series)

Turntable setups are less common at Mykonos events but still requested for rooftop sessions, boutique hotel openings, and events with a specific retro or underground aesthetic.

Controller Setups

Some DJs prefer working from a controller connected to a laptop:

  • Pioneer DDJ-1000SRT, DDJ-FLX10, or Denon MC7000
  • Laptop stand
  • Audio interface if needed

Controllers are compact and versatile but require a laptop, which introduces a point of failure. For high-end events, CDJs are preferred because they are standalone units with no laptop dependency.

What Is Included in a Rental

A proper DJ equipment rental should include everything the DJ needs to plug in and play:

  • All cables: RCA, XLR, USB, and power cables for every unit
  • Power distribution: Multi-socket boards or power conditioners
  • DJ booth or table: A stable surface at the correct height
  • Headphones: At least one pair of professional DJ headphones (HDJ-X10 or equivalent) as a backup
  • Delivery, setup, and collection: The gear arrives ready to use and gets picked up after the event

What should not be extra: stands for CDJs, a basic monitoring setup, and someone to check that everything powers on correctly before the DJ arrives.

Technical Riders: Reading and Fulfilling Them

Every professional DJ sends a technical rider before a gig. This document lists exactly what they need. A typical rider includes:

  • DJ gear specification: Which CDJs, mixer, and any additional equipment
  • Monitoring: Booth monitors (typically 2x active speakers like the JBL 708P or L-Acoustics X12)
  • Power: Number of outlets needed and any power conditioning requirements
  • Table/riser: Height, surface size, stability requirements
  • FOH system: Minimum PA specification (usually listed as a separate sound rider)

Your rental provider should be able to read a rider and fulfill it exactly. "We have something similar" is not acceptable for professional bookings.

Renting DJ Equipment Across the Greek Islands

If your event is on Mykonos, equipment stays on-island. Our warehouse is here, delivery is same-day, and we set up and test everything on-site.

For events on other islands (Santorini, Paros, Naxos, Ios, Crete), equipment ships by ferry or cargo. Lead times are longer, and you need to account for weather delays that can affect ferry schedules. We handle all transport logistics, protective casing, and on-site setup for inter-island rentals.

Athens events are straightforward. Road transport with a delivery window agreed in advance.

Common Mistakes

Booking gear without checking the rider. The DJ shows up and the mixer is wrong. Now you are scrambling.

No booth monitors. The DJ cannot hear what they are playing through the main PA. They need dedicated monitors aimed at them, not just the house speakers from 30 metres away.

Unstable surfaces. CDJ-3000s and a DJM mixer on a wobbly catering table is a disaster waiting to happen. Use a proper DJ booth or reinforced table.

No backup. If a CDJ fails mid-set, what happens? A professional rental provider brings spare units for critical events.
